The Rong Art Gallery, located in Fuzhou, is a testament to the ingenuity and creativity of Shenzhen Horizon Space Design Co.,Ltd. The project, which started in December 2019 and was completed in April 2020, is a unique fusion of the past and the future. The designers respected the original architectural structure, repairing damaged wooden components by hand to maintain the mottled texture of logs, turning turbidity into beauty.
The gallery is divided into two parts: the main building and the auxiliary building. The design team, consisting of Song Han, Qian Liu, Lan Yu, and Guyue Zhang, integrated spatial behavioral aesthetic interest into the design. As visitors walk through the gallery, they can experience different details and visual experiences, shedding the impetuosity brought by the outside world and returning to a state of calm.
One of the unique features of the Rong Art Gallery is the flower art of each space. Based on the spiritual core of Caoyueliu, a famous Japanese flower way school, the flower art expresses a free and diversified style, unbound by the constraints of the old framework. The metal installation screen in the negotiation area is another highlight, with each piece carefully hand-polished and arranged to create an overall shape reminiscent of a mountain range.
The VIP tea tasting area in the main building is a blend of tea ceremony, art, and flower way. The colorful screen adds a touch of vitality to the Oriental ambiance, while the transparent platinum crystal tea chair projects mottled water patterns on the ground, enriching the space's level. The "peacock chair" in the backyard has become a popular photo experience area, with its design based on the image of a peacock opening its screen.
The Rong Art Gallery also showcases lost traditional crafts. A glazed enamel screen, based on the prototype of "a thousand miles of rivers and mountains," is situated at the end of the courtyard in front of the main building. This piece integrates international design vision and contemporary aesthetics, recreating ancient paintings in a new way that is full of contemporary artistic expression.
Shenzhen Horizon Space Design Co.,Ltd's Rong Art Gallery is a true masterpiece that has earned its place in the annals of architectural design. It is a testament to the team's ability to create a space that is not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply meaningful, offering visitors a unique experience that transcends time and space.
